Well I have had 3 weeks of from work and this is what I have been doing with my buddy. He bought a 91 LX a few months back. It has a Vortec and about every imaginable bolt on and go fast part you can think of but he decided he wants to re-do the whole car and paint it and all that. So we began to tear it down and this is how far we have got in 2 days.
Here is what we began with

its depressing....try to talk cars to some of my friends and they are like, "why do you keep spending money on your car, its already fast as is" (in comparison to the 4 bangers they drive) hahaha

well, aren't you going to be using some of those holes to put shit back in???
My brothers car is the same way :dunno:Actually he is trying to tuck most of the wires behind the fenders so %98 of the holes are not needed. He is just going to fill them all then if he needs one he will just get out a drill.
GerRrg281
01-03-2008, 11:11 AM
oh, and the project looks like its coming along great....what are you guys planning on doing with it again?
CrownVic98
01-03-2008, 08:21 PM
nice, wire tucks look great. As for filling the holes, grind the paint away and get some sort of copper to put behind the holes and weld around the holes. the weld will not stick to the copper but will stick to the fire wall. then grind them smooth and probelm solved.

you can actually buy metal plates that you weld over the engine bay walls and what not... they look pretty nice and come in a kit that fit perfectly over everything...
01Bullitt

I just saw those metal plates in that thread. That is a damn good guy and my friend saw those to. I will have more pics up soon once we do a bit more work.

Hey guys, The coupe is my car. I've been member here but always lurking around.
This weekend we are going to continue working on it. I'm hoping to get the suspension off sand blast and paint what I can. Then try and start making some custom brake lines, and starting to weld up the holes.

Yes they do. The body shop where I had my subframes installed highly recommended their products.
Not trying to add to your workload, but have you considered (or did you already) filling in the holes across the top and front of the frame?

Where did you get the Por-15, did you put something behind the holes to keep it from falling out??
01Bullitt
01-15-2008, 08:19 AM
what he did was kinda make it mushroom on the back side. He would plung way to much through the hole then just spread it out on the back side. Once the body filler is put on I dont think that stuff is ever going anywhere.

So I went to drop in the motor today and Pops (dad) wasn't around. So in light of things my MOM helped me. She helped roll the stang out of the shop, so we could roll the motor in. Then rolled the stang back in to shop. She operated the engine hoist and basically lower the motor in, while i guide it. shes flippin awesome

UPDATE!!!!
Dustin decided to go another route and he sold the Vortec and bought this
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v512/Djstorm100/DSC01850.jpg
This week he got the Alternator put on and the belt. Along with some wiring. Last night I went over and we did a bunch of little things. We are hoping to have the car running in the next few weeks. Finishing fabbing up the turbo and wiring is what is basically holding it back now. He should be getting some black and red ford racing valve covers this week as well
