Anyone know if this is emissions legal? In its description (on the JBA website) it is recommended to be paired with the JBA shorties that are 50 state legal... however on other sites these Catted H's from JBA are labeled as offroad only?

Anyone think that I might fail smog by running these with the JBA shorties? (50 state legal shorties)

here is the link to where I plan on buying them...

I'd really like to finish off my exhaust completely, but if theres no Mid trurely emissions legal I might just keep the stock mid!

Any advice and or suggestions is as always greatly appreciated!

Cheers and best regards

As of this writing, there are no EPA-certified 50-state emissions legal catalytic mid-pipes on the market. So to answer your question directly, no the JBA mid-pipe is not emissions legal and is considered off-road because it has not be submitted for approval to the CARB (California Air Research Board).

However, in many states, if you replace your damaged stock mid-pipe with this JBA catalytic mid-pipe, it will probably pass emissions testing. It varies from state to state so check your local laws regarding emissions equipment for your car.

Like I said in my post, it depends on what state he lives in. If he's in California, I don't think he will pass because all aftermarket emissions-related equipment must have a CARB Executive Order number to pass. That JBA mid-pipe doesn't have one.
