ill try posting this again. why does it go bad and how can i make it now go bad again for a while?
Usually dirt and grime get into the bearing and start to wear it out. Once it loses it's lube or dries up with time, the metal pieces inside begin to rub and make that squeaky noise.

bleedingfordblue and i had this talk the other day. i replaced mine about 2 months ago, and it has started chirping again.
Are you sure it was lubed correctly? Also, driving through high water may contaminate it. With the crazy weather we've had lately, I thought I'd throw that out there as a possibility.

i have no idea, but i do know i spent $350 getting it fixed. it would be awesome if nino would sell a huge variety of parts. i would totally stop buying from mustangs unlimited. :D

Most people do it without realizing what keeping your foot on the clutch pedal will do....I'v never wore out a throwout bearing....Well I guess 4 clutches in 2 years keeps that from happening when I replaced the TB every time with a new clutch...

Bingo!
Also, the Ford OEM TOB is what you want to use. In the past month at 95,000 miles my original TOB started going south. So this week I went ahead and replaced the clutch with a Spec unit, the flywheel and a Ford TOB. Getting clutch chatter in first and reverse but that should go away once everything gets bedded in in a few hundred more miles.

Holy shit man. Does your car see a lot of track time?

what kind of sound was it making? mine squeals sometimes when i am at a redlight, and the clutch pedal feels weird when the throw out bearing starts making noise.

thats exactly what it was doing. i was told that the stock plastic clutch quadrant bends and makes the t/b work properly which makes that noise.

It stop squealing because you put tension on the TB with the adjustable quad. It stoped for now but it will return....

My car would do it at redlights and while driving... I had to just touch the clutch with my foot and the noise would go away, my issue was just a clutch cable adjustment

my car has a self adjuster, which i have tried doing several times and nothing has made it stop squealing yet, except like you said, when you just barely touch the pedal it goes away. on an 04 is there a way to adjust the cable under the car?
