Hello all, I am working on a 1993 LX 5.0 I recently acquired. The emissions system is a mess, the air pump is not connected and some of the vacuum tubes don't seem to be connected to anything. As I look at the exhaust, it seems to have stock headers, feeding directly into new H-pipe, into fairly new stock-looking mufflers. There is an inlet on the passenger side pipe for the air pump input (which is disconnected and very loud) but I don't see any cat's at all... I am in AZ and will need emissions testing. I will try to get some pics, but it's not jacked up very high in my garage. Can I pass emissions if I take out all the air pump crap and cap all the appropriate places?

:dunno:

Thanks!

You may be able to pass emissions if they aren't required to do a visual inspection. The exhaust may burn clean enough. If you decide your going to hook the smog pump back up, let me know, I've got the steel factory emissions tube that ties in to the h pipe, it's in excellent condition and even has the clamp and bolt.

Thanks,
I spent the day re-running the lines, looks like everything is there and seems to be functional... Working on a broken stud while changing the timing cover :(, so I won't know if it trips any codes for a few days...

You might want to check to see if there are any exemptions based on the year of your vehicle. You may get lucky. We haven't had emissions tests here in Michigan for a long time so I'm not sure how it works anymore. Good luck with the project. Us fox guys are few and far between on this site.
