I'm planing to install BBk CAi, the one that does not need a tune, and shorty headers. Will the 05 stang need a tune when I instal the headers? Also would like to instal a catted H pipe later.

IMO I would forego the BBK and get a CAI/Tune instead. Shorty headers provide minimal gains for how much money they are plus if you plan on paying some one else you are looking at $400 or more for labor. A CAI/Tune will cost around $600. And will provide you with 20-30 addition rwhp/rwtq and improved drivability.

I'd pass on the headers as well and consider an aftermarket midpipe or catback before headers. The stock manifolds flow pretty well and like gman said - hp per dollar isn't that great. CAI or tune or gears or other exhaust would be more beneficial at this stage IMO.

Thanks guys, a logical answer when you look at the hp gains with the shortys. I was looking for hp and sound. I guess a mid pipe and CAI and tune would be another option.
Thank you

Ok, well plan B...I like the sound of the stock mufflers. So what do you think about CAI tune and catted H pipe. I know if you are going for hp, you should go with better mufflers. Thanks again for the info.
