I am a 62 yr. old new member here. I am going thru my second childhood days. In my younger yesrs I had a 1969 Mustang Boss 302. Well, 2 yrs. ago my wife, two dogs & myself were going to Florida for the winter. the deeper we got into Florida the more retro Mustang GT's I saw. Guess what happened? Yup, I came back with my wife, two dogs & a new 2008 Torch Red Mustang GT!! Recently I have painted my brake calipers torch red, put a gloss black gas cap cover on, and painted the hood scoop & rear spoiler gloss black. Now I am looking into getting a "meaner" sound to the car. On 1 website I was looking at Pypes Violator axle backs & SLP Loudmouth axle backs.(The SLP sounded better) Now yesterday, I was looking at Ninosport's website & I was very interested in either the Boom Tube axle backs or the SSS Terminator axleback. I would very much appreciate some suggestions from you "younger" Mustang owners! Thank you so much for any tips you can send my way!! Thanks

I have the SLP LM and I love them. People have a love hate relationship with them. The sound is probably the furthest away from sounding like the previous generaion 2v and 4v, but the closest to sounding like a 60s early 70s muscle car. A lot of people also like the boomtubes and the SSS terminators as well, which I would imagine also sound close to a classic muscle car Both of these sound good on videos, but I have yet to hear them in person. SLP LM, boomtubes, SSS terminators and other muffler deletes sound best with the stock manifold and stock catted H. Once you change the midpipes or get Long tube headers they begin to sound too obnoxious. An exception would be a prochamber with hi-flow cats.

First of all welcome! I'm in MI as well. I'm between Canton, and Howell on a weekly basis.
I have the SSS Terminators, and absolutely love them. Very deep, and aggressive sounding. These are some of the loudest mufflers you can buy, but so long as you don't go with a off road pipe (stock or high flow pipe is fine) it will sound amazing.
For what you pay, and the quality and sound you get, they are very hard to beat.

Ghost Rider...I have decided to get the Loud Mouth axle back exhaust for my mustang gt. Now I have one more question......I have heard the loud mouths on youtube & they don't sound REALLY loud. But I have read some reviews on them & some ppl. say they are REALLY, REALLY LOUD. I don't want some that is so loud I will have to worry about getting pulled over for excessive noise! Your input on this subject will be appreciated!! Thanks...Denny

Youtube is not a good indicator on how loud an exhaust is. SLPs are loud when you first start it up or step on the gas. During normal cruising they not too loud, especailly in the cabin. Roll down the window and floor it and then it will be LOUD. Don't worry about getting pulled over. I live inCali and I have had cops beside and behind me; I just kept the car under control and no problems.
