Hey guys, I just recently put an o/r x pipe on my shelby with flowmaster AT's. The raspiness at around 2100 rpm's is killing me. The question I have is if I put back on my FRPP stingers will that help reduce the raspiness. I was under the impression that the raspiness comes from the chambered mufflers. Please help before I spend more money on trying to find the right sound.

Yes that should help.
The off-road X-pipe is also causing some of that raspiness. Just about every combo I've ever heard that has an o/r x-pipe sounded raspy to me.

It's been my own personal experience that o/r x pipes are smoother, and less raspy sounding than a o/r h with straight through style mufflers. With chambered mufflers it seems to be the opposite from what i've seen. Of course doing a catted pipe basically solves all of this.
I've tested this myself, as have a few of my friends.
Just my .02 based on my experiences.

If you don't want to spend money on converters you could add a pair of resonators instead. I've heard the resonators on a few cars and it will definitely tame the raspiness your experiencing.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll chime in again when I decide what to do.
