Hi everyone, Im military so I am originally from TX but work has me here. I picked up a used 2007 Shelby GT with 2002 miles on it in May 09 (black and silver) and was gone for a while, so now im doing the obvious, looking for a good exhaust system. I got the car and took the mufflers off just to hear it and there was no sound difference what so ever. I then let a friend talk me into gutting the cats out and put the stock mufflers back on so now it has some sound and a check engine light (rear o2 sensors). I have a huge shoping list already done up but the exhaust is by far the hardest thing to find now. I loved the sound of my old 03 cobra but i just cant seem to find that sound again.

Welcome to the boards...
your not going to be able to get the exact same sound since your now a 3v motor instead of the cobras 4v...but no reason why you can't make it sound badass and get pretty close to the sound you want...something sounds very fishy if there was no change when you took the mufflers off...did the previous owner have them cutted or something??? Your car should have been very, very quiet with them on :dunno:

here's stock vs. no muffs and the videos aren't the greatest but in real life there should be a great difference

Well its a shelby gt (not 500) and the car is completely stock. I know that the shelby factory put on a different exhaust but the cats are gutted now. If I take the mufflers off now its very loud and sounds like crap, so I know im gonna go with LT headers and a high flow at and im thinking a prochamber and just dont know about the axle back.

Yes I know what a Shelby GT is LOL...that's why I said you have a 3v motor...the GT500's are 4v's...wouldn't worry about headers right now...just get yourself a good AB and a mid if you want...PC is going to be an O/R pipe...so unless you weld in some hi flows you will still have the 02 sensor issue...
back to the exhaust...really depends how loud you want it and what type of sound your going for...such as low deep rumbly vs. more exotic higher pitch sounding note...what you going for? What did you have on your 03 Coby?

yeah what ghost said. How loud is a valid question. IF you want loud do a muffler delete made by SLP, magnaflow. next would be FRPP 5 GT, or Bassani Race and if you want a little louder than stock The borla touring or regular magnaflow GL

the shelby gt's came stock with the frpp gta's...
and welcome to MX
Welcome to the site. VistaBlue is correct about the GTAs and, additionally, it also came with the FRPP X-pipe.

IMO any axleback will sound good with L/T and prochamber. If you still have the GTAs, try those with that set-up. If you want a little louder go with stingers, MAC, bassani race and street or magnaflow magnapacks.
