Borla Question

I just bought a V6 and I am about to invest in a dual kit. From researching Im pretty sure i want to go with a Borla. The one Im looking at is part 101476. I can get it for $1000 but my question is, how does it differ from the FRPP Borla? Is the one from Borla less raspy than the one from Ford Racing?

What's the part number of the FRPP kit you're comparing it to?

I believe FRPP exhaust is made by Borla. So it is all the same. :dunno:

There's another company that makes FRPP exhaust which is Arvin-Meritor/Maremont/IMCO/Cherry Bomb. It's hard to keep track of which is the mother company but they're all related. They make the GTA mufflers, I believe the Bullitt mufflers, they use to make the FR500 cat-back, and a few other kits.

Yes, I mistyped it i am looking at Borla 140176 and FRPP M-2007-FR1V6 which comes with the Ford Racing intake.Its either the FRPP or the Borla and then go with a KN FIPK. I'm just wondering how much of a difference there would be. They both sound good in online clips, however the FRPP one sounds a bit raspier.

The FRPP kit you mention does not use Borla mufflers. It uses the same mufflers that were put on the Bullitt Mustang in 2007. It's hard to say which one will sound more aggressive as both mufflers have a pretty good growl. It does seem that you get more bang for your buck with the FRPP kit, however.

Im not too worried about bang for the buck, I just want to get the best product possible. I dont want to spend that much money then decide that I should have got the other one. I might be wrong with the product number for the Ford kit but I was looking at the Borla Stinger set up.

Not sure which FRPP kit you're referring to. The only one that includes dual mufflers, x-pipe, and CAI is the one you mentioned above. The only other FRPP exhaust part for the 2005-09 is the single muffler kit that is in fact a Borla muffler (p/n M-5230-5V6 (http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=7706)).
