Hello everyone I'm Pete. I just wanted to introduce myself. In the past I have owned a 1973 Mach 1, 1988 GT, and a 1993 LX 5.0. I then went to the dark side and was the owner of two corvettes. In July of 09 I traded in my 2004 vette for a 2010 Shelby GT 500. Although I really enjoyed the vette it is nice to be back in a Mustang. I am going to be putting a Flowmaster American Thunder axle back system on, but I'm not sure if its necessary to put mids on. Any suggestions? Thanks for any info.

nothing is neccessary...however with the GT500 you can get some considerable gains with an aftermarket mid but depends what you want...I mean if you don't care about that then it's not an issue...it will be able to beathe better and paird up with the AT A-back it will sound pretty good

Me personally, I would stick with the existing mid-pipe and just bolt on the axle-back. Once you add some other bolt-ons like a pulley swap, cold air kit, etc., then go for the gusto and add some Kooks longtubes and matching x-pipe.

Thanks for the info. Right now just looking for better sound. In the future I'll do the pully swap for more power.

well first of all welcome back to the mustang world and welcome to MX. First chance you get post up some pics. I have LTs on my gt500 but think the stock xpipe flows very well. Wondering? why flowmasters? You will need to post a clip on that. that is manditory!!lol

I'll get the pics on as soon as I can. As for the flowmasters, thats what I had on my 93 LX and I loved them. I had Borla on my 04 vette but I cant go by that sound, because in my opinion nothing sounds like a mustang. If you have any suggestion I would love to hear them.
