What is the decible level of the stock exhaust on 2004 GT?

In my quest for the perfect cat-back, I have come across a number of websites that list decibel levels for the particular exhaust they are selling. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what a stock 2004 GT produces as far as a decibels?

Hmm, I'm curious to know what websites actually lists decibel levels for their exhaust. Gauging sound by looking at decible numbers is very tricky and can be misleading because decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale and not on a linear scale.

For example, let's say you test two cat-backs and the first one registers 50 db and the second one registers 100 db. Most people would logically say that the second kit was twice as loud as the first, but in fact, it's much more than twice as loud because on a logarithmic scale each incremental rise is larger - or smaller - than the previous one. We are educated to perceive things on a linear scale, so going by db numbers is very hard for most of us to gauge.

just get something that sounds good to "you" whether it be loud or whatever, decibles? lets not get too scientific here

The reason this question was presented is because Gibson talks about this topic directly on there website. Also I had seen a post on this site (not sure where but I will let you know when I find it) that also referenced this topic with Borla and a few other brands and had decibel levels listed. I was just curious--nothing more.

Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of being able to rank all exhaust parts on the market in terms of loudness. I think it would be a great benefit to everyone. One of the most common questions we get around here is, "Which is louder, brand A or B?" It would be great if everyone could just look it up on a "loudness table" of some sort.
