I put a set of MIL Eliminators on my car the other day to get rid of my "Check Engine" light.

It worked for about 15 minutes, then the light came on again. I tried resetting by taking the battery cable off again. But, after another 15 minutes, it was on again.

I went to O'rielly Auto Parts and used their tester. It said "MIL bank 1 Exhaust" or something like that.

Could it be that I got a bad set of MIL Eliminators?

I contacted AmericanMuscle.com about it and they're sending me a replacement pair in case I got a bad batch, but I'm wondering if y'all have heard of these going bad before.

Well, I put a second set on and they failed also. American Muscle is sending me a 3rd set. Has anyone else had this happen?

I have heard from a couple different people about having bad mils...it seems to be pretty rare, but the fact that you had 2 bad sets could mean something else may be wrong or either they received a bad batch of them.

Just to make sure, you are installing these on the rear sensors and not the front, correct?

Another possibility is that you have a bad O2 sensor. Seems unusually - though not impossible - that two sets of MILs are faulty.

Let us know how that 3rd set works out for you.

Well, I'm on the 4th set now and they still don't work.

I did the off road X pipe about a week before the MIL Eliminators and everything was working fine before then when I had the stock H-pipe with the cats. The light never came on.

I have them on the rear O2 sensors. American Muscle is who I got them from and they said they did get a bad batch of them.

I think I may just save my pennies and get a tuner to take care of this and add a few horses that way, too.

In the meantime, I just pulled the bulb out from behind the light. I got really sick of looking at it. I can usually hear if something isn't running right, so I think I'll be relatively safe for a while until I get the tuner and put the bulb back in.

Dang that sucks - 4 bad sets. Hope things work out for you.

Well, I pulled the light bulb out for now, since it was driving me nuts. I've only got another month or so to drive the thing before I retire it for the winter, so I'll probably be pretty safe until then.

I'm planning on getting a tuner in the spring time, so that should take care of it.
