View Full Version : Difference b/w shorty & equal length headers on '94 5.0L with Flows & catted H-pipe?

Hello,
I have a 1994 mustang Gt 5.0 convertible and am putting a new exhaust on the car. I am putting flowmaster american thunder catback, bbk h-pipe catalytic, and dont know what do do with the headers I want to put headers but does it make a difference if i put equal length or shorty. Thanks a ny suggestions will help.

do you have any other mods to the car? You may want to check out a Mac O/R H Pipe. I had that setup on my 95 gt convertible and man it sounded great. It is like THE perfect 5.0 mustang exhaust. You could close your eyes and hear it go by and say..."Yep, thats a mustang"

By "equal length" do you mean shorty or longtube headers? Both exist.

Three types, shorties, equal length, and long tubes, all different. From what I have read, the equal are a pain to install, have not experienced it. my two cents, and my first post. yeah!

id say get some long tubes. that way if you do more engine mods later and decided to get them its already done. Plus you'd have to get the shorty mid pipe and such so long tubes is my opinion.

I totally agree! Long tubes sound better, and will really shine if you decide to throw down some real power. The shorties can't compete at that point.
