After hearing certain Mustangs in my city, I have decided that I want nothing but the best for mine as well. I want the sound to be the deepest, loudest, most aggressive and powerful sound possible. I would like to add/change any and every part of my car necessary in order to accomplish this, down to the very smallest detail.
I need your help deciding as I have almost no knowledge in this area of vehicle!!!
Also, I am planning on making the changes gradually, starting with the most noticeable change in sound firstly, probably a new cam first. I really don't know what kind of cams there are and the differences, however. So any and all information given would be a huge benefit to me!
Thanks!
One of our customers installed the Ford Racing Hot Rod cams on his 2005 GT and along with the Borla Stinger axle-back & JBA longtube headers with catted H-pipe, it is one powerful and awesome sounding car. By far the best S197 GT I've ever heard.

So do you think these brands in particular for each part sound the best together? Or would it be possible to achieve an even better sound with a different brand on some of the parts?
Sound is too subjective. The best thing I can do is get a sound clip of this customer's exhaust and you can decide for yourself if it's the right sound for you.
I'll see if I can get him to come by for a recording in the next few weeks. No promises though as he has his own schedule.

sound clips don't do anything...you really need to hear it in person...sounds like Nino's friend has a pretty good set up though, won't be the loudest but probably about the deepest you can get for a straight thru

What could be changed to make it louder but still be the deepest possible? And what is straight thru? I am totally new to this.

If you want a muffler that sounds absolutely killer, then check out SSS Terminator mufflers. These are some of the loudest and deepest mufflers (and i've heard alot in person) i've heard for our cars.
If you want to retain more of the deepness go with a catted h pipe. This will also go much better with the terminators as well (it'll help eliminate alot of the backfire and raspiness). Long tube headers will deepen and amplify the sound as well.
Straight through mufflers are basically that...straight through! There are no chambers (as in chambered mufflers). They usually use some type of ceramic mesh or insulated packing to absorb sound.
Also you might want to check into Comp Thumper Cams. My bro has these on his 06 gt. From what i hear, they're slightly more agressive then the Hot Rod Cams. They use a little more exhaust duration than the FRPP's for a choppier and more agressive idle.

a set of custom cams would really give you the aggressive exhaust note and a really awesome idle
