I have been die hard SLP since I bought the Bullitt 4 years ago. I now live in a police infested area and really cannot even drive my car because it is so loud right now. I am going to put my cats back on but I am thinking about finding some mufflers to throw on it as well. I want to keep the SLP tips and all that though. What would my best option be? I haven't really thought about exhaust much in the last 4 years but its time for a change.

put the cats on, it'll make a big difference....if thats not quiet enough, you can go to the LM II's or the Power Flo's and those are direct fit....slide them in and tighten them down, and you're good to go.

and they dont sell the "race pipes" for the SLP X pipe anymore, so keep them or sell them, im sure they'd go for a lot

I actually made the race pipes myself haha. I was actually thinking about selling them. They were kinda a pain to make. I may look into the LM2s. I was thinking about that but am still not sure what I want to do haha. The cats are going back on this weekend though.

With my setup, I can be really loud when I want, but when I let off the gas, it isn't screaming loud. I think the Flowmaster Delta design has something to do with this. I just take off really easy whenever I'm near a cop.
So far I've haven't even had one look at me. My friend's 92 Corvette is the same way. He has no cats with a 3" X-pipe back to a pair of Flowmasters. It is even louder than my car, but hasn't had a problem with the police for it.
I think the Delta 40 Flowmasters would solve your whole problem.
I friggin' hate cats and wouldn't put them back on unless I had absolutely no choice.

Check out SSS Exhaust. There are of great quality, and a great price. The sound is very unique and distinctive.

As someone else said, you could put on the SLP PowerFlo mufflers. They would be a direct fit with your current catback. You might even be ok without the cats with the PowerFlo's. They might be quieter at low rpm's than you would like though. Maybe try adding the cats and see how that sounds, then if you wanted you could get some Magnapacks and have them installed. Not sure what is involved in getting the Magnapacks to fit your current catback though.

What about putting on some quieter mufflers, but have the electronic cutouts so you can have the growl and power when needed?
