Right now I have slp loudmouths im going to be adding slp shotgun resonators under the car after the mid pipe to make it sound more like an sn95. i was wondering what is better a high flow catted H or a high flow catted X. the cheapest catted H i could find was 520 from mrt and the cheapest catted X is about 329 from pypes. since its about a 200dollar difference i wanna know how big the difference between the two is i like the the sound of the H a little better but the X is nice too opinions on this are great thanks.

I had a H on my 95 and I have a X on my mach...I am currently shopping for a new mid-pipe and I will be going with.......H. I just don't like the sound i'm getting out of the X pipe...I want something deep and throaty and the X pipe sounds more high pitched and raspy

I know that this is a older thread but I am trying to get that deep muscle bass sound as well. I went with slp long tubes with o/r x pipe at first with my original flowmasters and stock tail pipes. That was kinda too raspy for me. So, I went and purchased a complete cat-back exaust(magnaflow magnapack) with the straight thru design and it did give the car that deeper throaty sound at idle and at lower rpm, but at higher rpm you can still hear the same raspiness that comes with all x pipes. I just purchased a new Pypes o/r H pipe that will be modified to fit the collector of the SLP longtubes. We are going to dyno the car before and after the installation as well as test the engines performance using dumps after the magnapacks vs using the rest of the magnaflow system. I'll later give you some HP/TQ numbers as well as some feedback on how well it sounds. I do need a tutorial on how to upload sound clips. haha

thanks man, that would be awesome! I still haven't changed anything on mine, I keep listening to different clips trying to decide what I want to do.

We done the install of the Pypes brand H-pipe in conjunction with the SLP 1 3/4" long tubes with the Magnaflow Magnapack cat back today.
It was a very good combination to say the least. It is very mellow while at idle, but at WOT it has to be the closest sound to running with open headers. The good thing was that the sound can be controlled by not getting hard into the throttle and it is not in any way overbearing with interior noise or drone.
Comparing HP/TQ numbers with the X and the H could not be done due to the fact that the H pipe was customized to fit and in doing that, the X pipe would not bolt on without re-modifying/lengthening the connecting pipes.
My previous HP/TQ, the SLP long tubes+ O/R X pipe with weld in Flowmaster 40's into the stock tail pipes equaled 317whp/ 339wtq.
With the new modified Pypes brand H-pipe with Magnapack cat-back with a little addition of a single underdrive damper from Steeda(used a 2" shorter drive belt) my numbers increased to: 329 RWHP/ 380 RWTQ:D
