Hello everyone, i just got a 2004 Mustang GT, Screaming yellow. Ive wanted a Stang, since around 95. Finnaly got one at the age of 27, looking forward to making some friends here.
Few Basic questions
Anyone have rally strip installation experience?
Does First gear, suck, or is it just me... , IF you rev above 3k rpm its a choppy transition, if you go for the redline, its a long slow proccess, and shifting at about 2500 seems like the best bet, but tends to give you a slower start then it should
Looking for the 300hp mark... Going for underdrive pulleys, K&N cold air, Magnaflow cats, Flowmaster, super 40's, and hoping for the best... Id also like to get a stage 1-2 Steeda suspension pak, all in time, of course :)
Anyone tell me about the Pro 5.0 shifter.. pro's and cons?

Welocme..
I cant tell ya anything about the tranny but all those up grades sounds good but IMO the underdrive pullies really arent worth it.. Id get an off road midpipe with magnaflow cat back.. Itll sound killer...
Pro 5.0s are good but I personally like the MGW, which alot of people will agree that its prolly the best short shifter out there.. Good Luck!!

I don't know why anyone would want screaming yellow...but welcome to the boards non the less
I've driven with all three shifters...so far I like the Pro 5.0 the best
I current have the steeda paird with stock handle and so far seems pretty good more comfy than the steeda handle IMO
the other car has the pro 5.0 in it...I like how it shifts very much
IMO you can't go wrong with MGW or 5.0 but the steeda is growing on me...

I love the MGW. Have had it on my car since about a week after I bought it. I am not sure what you mean about shifting at 2500rpms. If you mean while cruising around going slow then definatly put it into 2nd. Once I get going about 10-15 I always put the car into 2nd...unless I am ripping though the gears then I let it go to 5200rpm before shifting since that is about when the peak HP kicks in and in my opinion never put the car back into first gear unless you are 100% stopped. Our cars have enough torque that you dont need to put it back into first almost ever haha. If you are looking to make 300hp or more supercharger is the cheapest solution. If you are looking for 300hp to the crank then just go with bolt ons and you will get real close. My car makes 260 to the wheels and thats with intake, tune, and exhaust. 260 to the wheels= about 300 to the flywheel. I wouldnt really waste my money with the steeda package. They tend to be a bit pricey when you can peice a kit together from another company for cheaper and the parts are normally the same. Best bet is to start with springs and caster camber plates. Then id go with shocks/struts and then go from there. Hope this helps. If you got any more questions let us know

To make 300 RWHP your going to need some kind of cams and full boltons. MGW shifter gets my vote. For the gears get the 4.10s they are a very nice upgrade.

300 rwhp youll need full exhaust cams, valve springs, intake manifold some gears will help tremendously and a nice tune. also a throttle body and cai will do wonders as well.

Lowering springs, look hot on cars, but where i live we get some nasty potholes, and bumpy roads, is it wise to lower the car, will the wheels, slam into the wheel wells?

no the wheels will be fine, dont go too low. just keep it around a 1.5" drop and you should be fine.

How come the SN95 covers both 94-98 AND 99-04? What does SN95 mean? just curious

SN95 is just the chassis or platform the car is built off of. The SN95 is from 94-04. Basically, there are only small tweaks from the 94-04s like in 99 how the body style changed along with switching to the PI 4.6 engine. Hell, some parts even work from the Fox chassis on the SN95 chassis as well. But that is since the SN95 is also a tweak of the fox chassis. The new mustangs (05+) are actually the first platform redesign since the fox body came about in 79'. A way to differentiate the 94-98s from the 99-04s is that the 99-04s are often refered to as the "New Edge" SN95s.
