Clay Barring?

Can someone post up tips on clay barring? I'm about to attempt it for the first time either this weekend or next weekend. Basically just wondering if you wash the car, then clay bar, then wash again, then wax...thats what I heard, just wondering what everyone else does. Also, what is a good kit to get? I've had people recommend Mothers and Blackfire...either of these any good? Thanks!

You don't need to wash the car again after you clay bar. Wax the car then go over it with the detailer you used with the clay bar. Make sure you don't skimp on the detailer while using the clay. Also don't forget to turn the clay frequently. It really works well and is fairly simple to do, you'll feel the grit in the clearcoat initially but after a couple of passes she'll be smooth as silk.

I wash with dishwashing liquid first, then claybar, then wax.
