ok so i asked for pypes or H pipe for xmas. and now im thinking about the install. I have the ramps to change the oil in my car, but i was curious as to whether that will grant me enough clearance to get under there and swap out midpipes. after having changed the oil twice with those ramps i highly doubt ill be able to squeeze under there so has anyone installed a midpipe with just ramps or if not, what kind of jack/jack stands have you used. theres no way im taking my car to a shop to have it done. had a bad experience with it and will never do it again.
I don't think you're going to be able to swap out the mid-pipe using only ramps - ramps just don't give you enough clearance. I bought some inexpensive car jack stands (I think they are the 2 ton variety) at Harbor Freight and they work great. Give yourself the most clearance possbile to make the job as easy as possible.

BTW, I moving this thread to the Exhaust Installation forum.

just make sure that if you get a jack, get a low profile one...a regular jack wouldnt fit under the side of my car with the pro-kit installed, although it will fit under the back of the car.

get a jack and a couple jack stands...i havent changed out my midpipe yet, so i dont know how hard it would be to do...but you should be able to slide up under the car with 2 jackstands and 1 jack...

If you catch harbor freight or sometimes sears, they will have a sell where you buy a jack and get 2 free jack stands...I got one from sears a few years back and thats what I used when I swapped out my mid pipe...2 jack stands on the front, jack on the back
