So I take it I'm not the only one getting spammed via PM's? Nino, would it be possible to require a certain number of posts before one can PM? Just to stop this bs.

I haven't received any PM spam, although I am aware that there are many spammers trying to create accounts on this forum. I'm managing to weed out 99% of the spammers trying to get on the site by manually approving or deleting all new accounts. It's a real pain.

One very effective way to deal with them is simply to add them to your Ignore List. That way you won't see any messages or PMs from them anymore.

Also, send either me or cobra4me a PM with the name of the spammer and we'll delete the account.

Thanks,
-Nino

Good point on putting them on the ignore list. The only problem is that every pm that is spam is from a different account every time, or at least it has been from the ones that are sent to me. ill shoot them to robbie when i get them. He isnt too busy...:jest:

Send me a spammer username - i'd like to check out their account.

Hmm, that user account doesn't exist in our system. I even tried a partial match. How long ago was that?

I got it last night around 10pm. I just forwarded it to you.

Ok, perhaps I already deleted his account. I'm going to investigate this a little further to see how these PMs are being sent.

I got one from him too, but it looks like it came in this today but was time stamped 10:38 last night. It was forwarded to Robbie and you.

And Fordsy, there may be some snow on the roof, but there's fire in the furnace!

I guess Nino took care of this spammer because when I searched for the user name it was all gone:guns:
