MAC stopped making any mid-pipes with cats a few months back due to problems with the cat supplier. BBK is the only one I know of that makes a catted H for longtubes for 99-04 Mustangs.

^^^ic, thanks for the headsup Nino, any idea about the quality and or fitment of the BBK pipes, experiences good or bad???

thanks again

and also, I guess my next question would be with the BBK pipe match up with the Hooker LT's I have???

the pipes should match up just fine, just as long as they are the same diameter, and have the same flanges (way to bolt together)

i know on the SLP headers, they have the slip fit, and its one of the only style of headers that have that. I know that Hooker does make headers in this style too.

but that would be my only concern for you really. Just make sure the LT's and the mid pipe have the same holes for the studs and bolts

the hooker headers don't have flanges :(

the collectors just stop

It's very hard to say whether one brand's mid-pipe for longtubes will fit another brand of lt headers. There is no standard for making longtube/mid-pipe kits as there is in making mid-pipes for stock/shorty headers. Some companies make the headers sit far apart, others a little more closed in, some make the primaries extra long (which makes the mid-pipe shorter overall).

Most likely any mismatching of parts will require custom work. For a headache-free installation, go with the matching mid-pipe for your lt headers.

yeah I thought of that too...but I don't think hooker makes an H to match...

Maybe I should put the stock manifolds back on :dunno:

Remeber, you could just buy some hi-flow cats and have them welded in. Someone else around here went that route.......LOL

You could have an exhaust shop weld flanges onto the Hookers so you could use a flanged pipe. They may also have to adjust the collectors a bit, resize them, depending on what the outlet size is. It's either that or buy a flanged pipe, have the flanges removed and the ends flared to create a slip fit for the headers.

^^^yeah I was at a shop the other day...problem is the collectors are 3" so they can't expaned the 2.5" pipe that much and there is no room to add in an adapter cause appearntly they are Off Road Headers so they are even longer than regular LT's

Also, they've already did some botchieness weld/cement work under there because there used to be cats on it...now (whoever) has pooched it by adding in pieces of pipe...it's really not good...

You have the BBK long tubes and matching H pipe though right Badass? Everything fit good right? I want this to look good and sound good so my other alternative is to get the BBK LT's and matching catted H and that way I know everthing is bolt up and will fit correct???

just to weld in cats, the shop quoted me $540 yesterday so...I mean, that's where I'm at, at this point...

Yes, the BBK pipes mated up to the collectors perfectly. Hell, even the alignment was easy.

Is that the only shop in your area that will do exhaust? Just seems like there has to be another alternative to buying new headers....
