Well I love the sound of my SLP catted x-pipe and SLP LM1 catback. Problem is the SLP X-Pipe Hangs way way to low. My thinking is that I need to spend as little as possible so I want to either change the whole midpipe or just take the cats off. If I do that I will put the stock mufflers back on. Id leave the SLP on there but it would be so loud that I wouldnt be able to bear it. What would you guys suggest? I know that my car is loud as hell right now, I just cant imagine what it would sound like without cats.

someone just posted about lifting up his x pipe with a jack and retightening gaining enough to lower the car. It was on a blue cobra I think. Try it with no cats but bring hearing PPE :burnout:

that was dan who posted that and I did try that but now it just leaks horribly from the passanger manifold. I only gained about 1/2" from doing that anyways.

If spending the least amount of money is the idea as you mentioned, get some off-road pipes made at a local shop and put the stock mufflers back on. The off-road pipes couldn't cost you more than $20 for both. In fact, I think I remember seeing some straigh pipes at Auto Zone.

Btw, I'm moving this thread to the correct forum.

huh I keep hearing how low the SLP X sits and mine is fine. Had it for over a year and a half now and been over every size speed bumps, hills, and parking lot entrances. (some really sucked lol). Only heard one slight scrap and looked afterwards and saw one very light scratch. My cats are coming out next month when I install the SLP long tubes, but should sound ok: I have the SLP LM2.

Jeremy,
The one mistake we made that people have been telling me is that after you loosen everything up tighten the pipe at the manifold up then push the exhaust up and tighten the rest. I think I jacked up everything and tightened but even though it would tighten at the manifold it wasn't snug. Give me a call if this doesn't make sense. Dan
