I have stock exhaust right now. I dont really like the slps cause i hear they are extremely loud and raspy i like a deep rumble but somewhat loud....
any ideas?
What year and model is your car? You may want to update your profile to show that info because Borla kits are different for a 1996 GT vs a 2004 GT.
Main pros for the Flowmaster is that it's less expensive than the Borla, it has that classic, throaty exhaust note that screams Mustang. Cons are that it's made of aluminized steel (hence the lower price) and the tips are not as nice, IMHO, as the Borla tips.
Main pros for the Borla are the extremely high quality materials and craftsmanship, million mile warranty, the awesome looking 4" rolled-edge tips, and the smooth exhaust note. Cons are high price.
Like I mentioned, the Borla kits vary depending on what year Mustang you have. The Flowmaster American Thunder kits are pretty much the same for 96-04 GTs. Give us a little more info and I'll be able to be more specific.

SLP Period...keep your stocker H and throw the LM catback on, you won't be dissapointed and it won't be raspy...only raspy with the O/R pipes...
I had SLP on my 04 GT and I will be getting it for my Mach 1 now...
but not to be bias...Borla is also a good choice...
all depends if you want a straight thru or Chambered muff
and not to step on Nino's toes...but IMO SLP has the best tips hands down...even if you dont' like the exhaust lol I find the Borla tips too big myself...but meh, everyone's different right...
Here's a couple vids for you dude...
1st vid is SLP catback with Stock H pipe

3rd vid is SLP Catback with O/R H

4th vid is SLP Catback with Custom Catted H from inside car

5th is SLP Catback with O/R H pass by in 4th gear at about 2500 RPM...so you can imagine how loud when your ripp'n on it

Thanks man those videos help alot..... it seems like in all the other videos the slps are raspy but yours sounds great.... I might consider getting slps if mine would sound like that and it definatly beats paying 600 some dollars for borlas

I heard some flowmasters today in person and they were just about as quiet as my stock exhaust and i dont really want to get a midpipe and mess with the mill eliminaters and all that crap

You may want to think about changing out the midpipe. I don't know if its the same with the 4.6's but I had a noticeable increase in power when I changed mine out

I was going to go with Flowmasters, but I found a guy selling headers, x, and a cat back borla stinger kit for $800 bucks and took the deal. (His wife divorced him and was taking his Mach...Poor guy..) Could not be happier. Perfect sound.

Hey man, record a sound or video clip and submit it to our collection! That's an order soldier!

Very true. Mine never helped me with exhaust work, but she did burn my clutch!

Like he said... Flowmaster screams Mustang. But everyone and their brother has them. They came on my GT when I bought it. They sound ok. But once you hear other setups in person.. They don't sound as good to you. I really like bassani. It's the catback im getting.
