well my whole life ive had beagles golden retrievers shepards etc. they have been a BREEZE to train. 4 months ago i ibrought home a beautiful boxer, he was Definitly the leader of his pack. Extremely dominant and even when i went to go pick him up he even ignored me lol. typical for a dominant dog. well ive never had a harder time training a dog, he knows sit get up lay down come but he wont do it. its driving me nutz i never use treats(if you really know how to train a dog you wouldnt well IMO.) and he always walks behind me but lately its been incredibly windy out and the leaves the wind the people all the sudden he just has gotten (in the past 4-5 days) extremely UNRULY. heres what ive never had before A MALE DOG. i need to get his balls cut SOON. he is a PITA now and my training methods arent even working. I make him submiss to me even in PUBLIC i will ****in lay down over him and hold him down people even look at me like im a freak of nature or they think im hurting my dog but he is off the chain. I WALK HIM 40 MINS EVERY MOURNING but imo that might not be enough his energey and predator drive is OFF THE CHAIN lol. can anyoine help

Maybe call Cesar Millan :dunno:...I have had similaor problems with my dog ( also a male )once his boys were gone he calmed down alot. Besides that I haven't really had a boxer so try so training classes or something. Good luck

When I was a kid we had a Black Lab and Australian Shepard mix and he was a breeze to train. He was very smart and made a fantastic guard dog. Maybe it's just the breed.

Cut your balls off instead, you'll calm down in not time at all!
J/K Greek......:jest: But seriously, my sis has a female boxer that was very hard to train too. All the boxers I've known have been that way, hard-headed, hyper, very much a mind of its own. May just be the breed :dunno:

well here is my suggestion. I have a female pit bull and kinda feel your pain. Do you ever crate the dog?? That might help in calming him down. the best thing that works for me is....When my girl gets unruly which is rare I put a leash on her and make her submit and stay close to me for long periods of time, It works for me and if you give her attention for bad behavior that is a no-no The dog must understand that you are the pack leader the end. just my .02.

^^thanx for the post fellas. he submits and then he just cant help himself with stupid distractions like leaves sand the wind he goes beserk. i have been skimping out on a few of the details tho and i itend to get impatient. but the breed is a hard headed breed thats for sure. i just have to have more patience because he has been getting much better. now im gonna go eat ini his crate and then feed him after lol wierd but its what i gotta do for a while
