If you're set on an X pipe, I'd say get the Bassani X.

would an H-pipe sound beter then the x-pipe with this catback
Borlas sound really good with either an H-pipe or an X-pipe. If you want the sound to be deep and rumbly, go with an H. If you prefer a smoother, more refined sound go with an X.

Like Nino said (or typed, I guess), Borlas sound great paired w/ either an X or an H. The H will give you a deep, muscle car sound while the X is more high pitched and exotic sounding. You really can't go wrong w/ either, it just depends on what kind of sound you are looking for.

what H-pipe would sound best
There's really no difference in sound between H-pipes. Both MAC and MRT make H-pipes for your year Mustang, but MAC only offers theirs in off-road version.

I have had both an H and an X pipe with my Stingers. I first had the stock H pipe, and switched to an MRT catted H pipe. Sounds great at idle and normal driving, but under heavy accerlation it sounded really cheap. A lot of people called it a 'blaat' that almost sounds like a Harley motorcycle. I even had someone ask me if I had glass packs on my car...And if you have Stingers and an MRT H pipe, you have paid over $1,000 for your exhaust...probably don't want it to sound like glass packs haha.
Here is a video of my car on the dyno with the Stingers + MRT catted H pipe.

I watched a handful of videos of a 2004 Cobra with the Stingers paired with the Bassani catted X pipe, and I ordered one and threw it on my car. I will be keeping the X pipe. Such a clean sound, and still very loud and aggressive. Here is a short video of my car with the X pipe on the Stingers.

Good luck.
