my name is chris i live in the portland oregon area i have a 2008 mustang v6 pony package i love to drive my car and it drives me crazy to sit in traffic. i belong to a mustang club in the beaverton area the Mustang Wranglers the club site is www.mustang-club.com check it out. im looking for an exhaust system for my car and a set of headers i was wondering what system would be the best a true dual meaning headers 2 cats and two mufflers or a cat back system and x pipe or and h pipe any suggestions or info that i can read and get ideas.

H pipe with 40 series...keep the H pipe catted and don't bother doing headers...huge expense with minimal gains...and depending on which ones you get could actually decrease your performance and I'm sure you're not looking to do that

My thoughts exactly. Headers are typically one of the last mods you'd want to do and are a huge expense. A new catback will be just fine and you'll get a much better sound over stock without spending much money.

cool that sounds good what about running 2 cats and two seperate pipes instead of the h pipe

besiseds what is the difference between h pipe and x pipe. im looking to get a good deep sound that is almost v8ish how hard is it to cut the rear bumber and would it be easier to get the replace ment part.

An H pipe would give you deep, rumbling sound where as an X pipe would give you a higher pitched exotic sound.

Don't expect your Stang to sound like a V8 though.

^^^yep...and cats are a must...otherwise even the H will sound high pitched...

H and 40's or Flowpaths are going to get you the closest to the V8 sound but as Mike said don't expect it to be the same...more so in the higher RPM range is when it starts to rasp out
