My Flowmaster hangers are rusted out and one of them separted from the pipe by the muffler. It is making a horrible creeking sound when driving. All the other hangers look rusted too, so they should be separating soon. So, i need a new catback. Was thinking of getting Mac, Brenspeed sells it for $313 shipped on ebay, but then I kind of want stainless steel, Borla, because I drive the car in the winter. The flowmasters have seen 4 winters. The headers and x pipe are stainless steel. So I was thinking of going with Borla Stingers. I can get them for $638 shipped on ebay. So what do you guys think of the Borla Stinger sound? It will go together with American Racing longtubes and catted x pipe. Do you know of any better deals other than ebay? Will they be insanely loud? How is the sound when cruising on the highway?

Good find!
I've been hearing that Stingers are really loud with longtubes and a catted x. I was also looking into the Steeda/Borla catback. It's $70 more than the SS Macs. Borla Stingers are $100 more than the Steeda and $170 more than the Macs.
Which one guys?

I'm not a fan of the Magnaflow sound. Don't like the straight cut tips either.

Hey guys! Just couldn't bring myself to put a straight thru muffler on the car. I'm just not a fan of the sound on a 2v. I love the muscle car chambered sound. I was going to go with a Mac stainless steel catback, but everything from Mac has been on backorder for like a month. So I went with a very similar setup that was recommended to me by NinoSport:

I Love My Macs, But I MIss My Stingers.....

JBA sounds mean!!!! muaaahhh! Very similar to Flowmaster, but a little more refined. From the inside it's a little quieter, I guess there is no famous Flowmaster drone that everyone talks about, but from the outside it is mean. Little more raw than the Flows. Everything fit perfectly. Took me and a guy at the local Carx 30 min. to pull the Flows and install the JBA. The only minor complaint that I have is that I think JBA welded the passenger side tip too far out. The passenger side sits about 1/2" further out than the driver side. You can only notice it if you're standing right behind the bumper and looking down. Other than that, great quality, great fitment, great sound, and great price for an SS catback. I highly recommend JBA to all those looking for the Flowmaster and Mac sound.

I still say stingers.. I have them with the mrt catted H. They don't sound to loud but loud enough. The girls like them thats for sure. Not to loud but sexy thats what I hear. LOL. I like SLP and bassani but I'll get those only if I get the turbo for the car.. ;)

I've had all the popular exhausts on my mustang, expect for SLP LM1s. However, I have heard them in person on a similar setup to what I used to have. With a catted Xpipe, you could go with SLP LM1s. It wouldn't be nearly as obnoxious as if you had an offroad Xpipe. IF you didn't want stainless steel, I would unquestionably go with Flowmasters again. I've been through probably two dozen combinations and LT headers, offroad Hpipe, 2 chamber flowmasters is my favorite by a long shot. For a stainless setup, my top choice would be Magnapacks. I had magnapacks with an offroad midpipe and it was too loud. The setup had that blatty, glasspack sound when you stepped on it from 2-3k. In your case, the catted Xpipe would eliminate that. Here are my top three:
1. Magnapacks
2. Borla Stingers
3. JBA Evol - double check and see if the entire catback is SS, the website isn't specific, they just say the mufflers and tips are SS. Also, be weary of chrome tips, especially with harsh winters, they peel easily.
For price, quality, and sound, I think the magnapacks are the best deal. Back in the day I paid $360 shipped from Ninosport for my original Magnapack catback. My most recent exhaust setup on the mustang was a regular SS magnaflow catback with 2 chamber flowmasters welded in. I bought a brand new magnaflow catback for $400 shipped from an advertiser on The Corral and the flowmaster mufflers from ninosport. The entire setup cost me about $415 after I resold the magnaflow mufflers.
Opinions vary but I would stay away from MAC. I still don't trust their quality to this day. I've had three MAC products and they all had problems (missing hangers, unfinished welds, damaged, etc..)
