Went to GLD last night to see what the car would do with the 4.10's and drag radials. I'm not pleased at all. Before doing the built rear w/ 4.10's, steeda sports, bilsteins, MM LCA, and 315/35/17 BFG DR's my best was:

60': 2.05
1/8: 8.85
MPH: 80.77
1/4: 13.68
MPH: 102.05

My three timeslips from yesterday are:

60': 1.95
1/8: 9.01
MPH: 77.04
1/4: 14.00
MPH: 100.16

60': 1.87
1/8: 8.94
MPH: 79.26
1/4: 13.92
MPH: 100.11

60': 2.01
1/8: 8.95
MPH: 78.60
1/4: 13.92
MPH: 100.51

I don't understand it. I'm getting better 60fts., but worse MPH, 1/8 & 1/4 times. The only weight difference would be the rearend/suspension parts, and the rear cobra r's with 315 DR's. On the first pass I did have a problem getting it into 3rd and 4th, I think the throwout bearing is to blame for this because it has been making noise for the last 2 months, but the other runs went in pretty smoothly. What's your guys incite?

Hey man!

After my runs yesterday I came to the conclusion that I need a new car!

LOL, j/k!

I need to work on my launch and I think I can squeeze another second or two out.

I only saw one of your runs and it did look smooth. Hopefully somebody can shed some light on the situation for you.

I am going to be up that way again on Friday, Aug 22. I "may" take another shot at it then.

I may go back on Sunday the 17th. I'm going to try it on street tires this time. I'm cleaning the air filter today, doing an oil change sometime this week, and throwing the street tires back on. I ran better with street tires before so I have to go back the way it was in order to diagnose the problem.

i have always thought that 410's are more of a street gear and have you run out of gear at the end. 373 iv been told are the ultimate gear for are cars but ya hopefully someone chimes in with some mechanical knowledge. i run better times with my bolt on mach you should be breaking very low 13's at the least i would say good luck

3.73s are horrible unless you have a power adder of some kind... They blow balls on the street and on the track... If i had some 4.10s i would be seeing some lower 60ft times for sure... as for your times... put your car on a diet... shed some weight... how full was your gas tank when you did your 13.68 vs your 13.92....

i dont know if there horrible gears for the track i know 410\s for the street are amazing i know a few guys running 373's and there happy with them but import killer knows more than me go with the diet plan

i still just have my stock 355's and i think my car pulls hard i should get some 410's our higher but not sure if im supercharging our not i was going to then i bought a new house and truck gears are cheaper

TheGreekGuy

since your in a mach. i would go with 4:30's honestly. you have a DD and driving 430's whether its on a blown application or not would be beautiful.

ya how much should i expect to pay for 4'30's and you dont think it will kill my track times

orange04mach1

i meant how much to install the 430's

^^^you can get a shop to do it for 350-450. shop around and dont settle blown stang actually helped me out because he gave me a link to the thread. no it will lower your track times lol. and the difference of hooking bw 410's and 430's is minimal. go with the 430's and dont look back.

couldn't agree more. my old man has 4.10s in his mach and wishes he went 4.30 every time he drives it.

Both were done between 1/3 - 1/4 tank of gas. First run on Friday was at 1/3, and last run just above 1/4. I think the big 17x10.5's and 315's are slowing me down big time. 60' are lower but 1/4 and mph is slower. Doesn't make sense. Has to be the rims and tires.

hmmmmmm well, i would have to guess that you are just not used to the 4.10s yet. that would be my only guess. your 1/8 mile times have increased and your MPH decreased. that tells me that you must either be short shifting it, or stretching out one of the gears too long. you should be low 13s with that kind of 60. i would say its driver. just not used to how to drive the car with the 4.10s yet.

come back out on the 17th. me and a bunch of other guys will be there for the IMSM make up race

dont take it right to redline in 3rd shift like 500rpm before the red your mph will go up like 1-2 mph for sure ur time should go up as well

500rpm before redline will put me at 5300rpms. Seems kind of low. I shifted 1-2 and 2-3 at 5800, and 3-4 at 5600. I'll email my tuner and see what he thinks.

ya maybe not 500 i cant even remember what my 01 gt redlined at haha i know for my mach i shift 500 before redline into 4th thats what everyone on the mach1 registry preaches to do

more rotating mass will defnatly effect your times...

hmmm im surprised no one mentioned it but weather plays a HUGE roll in your times. Was there more humidity and ehat than your last runs becuase that can greatly effect your times, but get rid of the Cobra R's and get some v6 15's or some drag wheels, OE wheels like the cobra's are only good for looks not performance

got rid of them last week. will be picking up some 15x8 greg welds for next year. right now i'm changing the catback and getting a fiore firewall and quadrant adjuster. will go back to the track in october on street tires.

blown and 410s here to, went mid 12's at 115, on street tires, in a 98 GT

315s is alot of meat to be turning man, try steppin it down to a 275 or so man.

Come out the hole slippin the clutch, when you catch traction, mash it to the floor.

My ex had an auto t/a (ls1) that went 13.2 with stock tires on it, she decided to switch to 315 DR's, against my warnings, and she slowed to a 13.5, the car didn't have the balls to turn those big ass, sticky at that, tires
