First off hello, I am a noob here and need some opinions. I have a 2002 Gt that was in Pennsylvania. In Penn. the car was emissions exempt because it was driven less than 3000 miles per year. While it was in Penn. I had stock manifold with a Mac H pipe and Flowmaster catback exhaust. I really enjoyed the sound, could barely here it under 2000 RPM but had a menacing growl at 3000 rpm.

I have now moved to Virginia, and was told there is no handy emissions exempt laws down here. I had to take the Mac off and put the stock H back on, and now it sounds like every other mustang on the road.

Does anyone know of a catted H (or X) pipe (or an H (or X) pipe that looks like the cats are there) that would give me a similar, or better sound than my Mac?

Alternatively, does anyone know of anyone in the Hampton Roads area that would inspect the car without looking underneath?

Thanks for all the help.

I never have really suggested it, but you could hollow out your stock cats.....

As for getting a catted pipe that would sound similar - that wouldn't happen. You won't be able to get that same sound with cats. I guess alternatively you could try an O/R prochamber, but I would think any inspector would know it's not a cat he/she is looking at :dunno:
