I had the Magnaflow Magnapack Cat Back system put on my 2006 Mustang GT.

Of course they replaced the stock pipes because that what catbacks are. I noticed when I got them on and looked at the instruction manual it said to unplug the battery before putting them on.

I am now gonna put my stock pipes back on so that I can install
SLP loudmouth axle-backs (they wont fit on the mag pipes).
I was wondering why they said to unplug the battery?
Did they put a tune or something on at the shop?
They are'nt headers its just a cat back that replaces the stock pipe.

So why would the instructions say to unplug the battery?
Im guessing I need to do the same thing when putting the stock pipes back on with the slps?

Can someone help me with why it said to do this and what I need to do?
Thanks!

I didn't unplug my battery when doing my catback :dunno: You should be fine leaving it plugged in.

If you ever read any instructions for any works to be done to a car, no matter how trivial or stupid, they always start with unplug the battery. It is just a safety thing. Most often not needed, use common sense, but it can't hurt to do that either. Your choice
