Hi guys I just bought a 99 vert w/5 speed tranny. one of the things thats bugging me right now is how far away the shifter is from me in the 1,3,5 position. I have to lean forward to shift. I'd like something thats adjustable, not just for the shorter throws but the handle as well, what one would you guys suggest? I have read alot about most all of them but mainly from catalogs and would like to get an owner review pretty much. Thanx in advance for any responses, I know most of you guys have the manual tranny and can really shed some light on what I am looking for. I wont be racing the car, mainly a driver, and some fun now and then, so I dont need an extremely strong shifter but a comfortable one.

for your car, MGW definitely. It has just a bout an infinite # of adjustment points and has the most solid shifting and shortest throws from what everyone has said. I personally have a pro 5.0 in mine, but I also have a diff tranny and I heard they suck for the newer ones. Everyone I know that has an MGW loves it so I would suggest that.

i loved my tri ax. had it for 3 straight years on my old 04 and loved it. never had a tighter shifter and never missed a gear unless i was driving retarded. i have heard that the mgw is a more comfortable shifter but the tri ax had more of a stiffer feel which i liked. i dont think you can go wrong with either one.

kinda looks like mgw is the way to go then, thanx for the input guys, hopefully I can get it in a couple weeks then. Please though others keep posting what you like so I can keep my options open before I buy. By the way this "new" 99 vert is the first stick shift ive had in 15 years, so believe me all input will be considered. And theres nothing like trying to remember how to drive a stick like lunch hour grand rapids trying to get home :P

Get the MGW. Its the best shifter out there. Here's a write up I did when I installed mine.
