I have a 66' Mustang with the following:

5.0 EFI
Rack and Pinion Steering
T-5 Cable Clutch

Yes, I don't think it can get any worse for finding headers. I tried installing a pair of Flowtech long tube headers and I got them to fit after lifting the motor a few inches however, the exhaust tubes rubbed hard against the cable clutch and on the rack and pinion to the point where the wheel could not be turned left.

I heard that Hedman and JBA (shorties) are the only thing that is guaranteed to fit.

I ordered BBK unequal shorties for a 86-90 Mustang. Will these work?

I want to spend less than $200 on a pair of shorties. JBA is too expensive. Hedman ceramic is too expensive. Hedman standard I have only heard bad things about (they leak).

Someone mentioned Patriot shorties. Are those another option?

Any help would be great :dunno:

Thanks guys! :burnout:

Ok,

BBK shorties will *not* work on any mustang V8. There is a clearance issue with the shock towers.

Flowtechs do not work because they hit the steering shaft and the clutch cable.

I am back at square one. There seems to be no header that works...

dont waste your time on this site. spent 10mins registering to get exhaust sounds (ie the name of the site) and their arnt any. check out more decent sites like mustangforums.com

I've heard those flowtechs dont fit clutch cars but id check around. Depending on what you want is how much you'll spend. shorties are nice but wont give you the tq of long tubes. i got some cheaper hookers on mine and love em. gonna switch em out for super comps in the next couple months but the regulars are still really awesome
